Vignesh
Sr Software Engineer at GoodRx
Los Angeles
I build tools that make engineers' lives easier. There's something about watching an idea turn into working code that still gives me a dopamine hit after all these years.
Born near Chennai, studied electrical engineering—but to be honest, I was always interested in writing software.
These days I'm on the Developer Tools team at GoodRx, where I get to build internal tooling, test automation, mess with infrastructure, and occasionally break things in interesting ways.
I'm the kind of person who can't just have an idea and let it sit there. If something seems like it could work, I need to build it, ship it, see what happens. Then probably rebuild it three more times.
I take my responsibility of creating timely memes and Slack emojis very seriously.
What I've been working on
- Lifecycle—an open-source dev environment orchestrator that's spun up 18k+ preview environments, letting engineers test full-stack changes per pull request
- Smart alert routing that matches GitHub commits and CODEOWNERS to Slack channels, so the right people get notified instead of everyone
- Packaged Playwright as an internal module with built-in auth, mocking, and telemetry—teams can now add integration tests with zero config
- OpenDevTools—a collection of open-source developer utilities, no tracking, completely free
Always happy to chat about developer tools, testing strategies, or interesting problems. Say hi!
When I'm not coding
- Shooting barebow archery (no sights, no stabilizers, just vibes)
- Pretending to be good at CrossFit
- Hiking around LA
- Console gaming—just wrapped up Ghost of Yotei
- Answering to my dog, Chocolata who runs my home
